I should see the original. It's cool that the two leads have smaller parts in the remake.

Totally. Nobody loves films more than Martin Scorsese & it’s fun to see him show it like that. I’m sure the original holds up like gangbusters, there something timeless about casting virtue v. evil as Peck v. Mitchum. It’s so scary!

I will go so far as to say, as good as the remake was, the original was even better. No disrespect to Scorsese! It’s just that the original was that good.

perhaps mainly due to casting of Nolte vs. Peck Sorry Nick: there’s just no contest there. In the embodiment of Virtue department.
