To anyone who collects Pokémon cards. Do you the game? Do you and your friends get together and whip out your decks to battle? Or do you just stick your cards in hard plastic saying “wow! Look how much they’re worth!”? I’m genuinely curious.

My nephew (11) has gotten into pokemon, just the cards not the games and he has no idea what evolution are, type differences etc, it's all about the value of the card. I've stopped buying them already. Told 'em until you beat the elite four, I'm out. He looked at me like I had 2 heads.
I constantly ask people if they want to play. I put it in all my dating profiles. I ask everyone. Everyone thinks I'm a fucking loser for being 29 n still even thinking about Pokemon I have decks n used to play the app until the new one came out, & have a collection in plastic too I feel dumb tbh
People.....play, with those?
I mean, I assume it’s a game. A card based game, I remember being in high school and my friends playing it.
🤣🤣
The paper stuff, I collected and played in college, and then again with my kids. Anything bought after, say, 2004 was just for playing. The digital card game, I mostly just open the free packs and occasionally play.
I pull my deck out whenever I think someone might want to play with it. I do keep it in plastic though, can't be too safe.
Keeping it in plastic sleeves is one thing. It’s the hard plastic prisons I think are weird. But also, people do what they want. I was just curious what the vibe was from people in the hobby.
I just play pocket now cause of the free packs, but I did have a brief card collection for about a year in 2021. I was mostly it for the arts, really
