What a myopic and ill considered statement. I’d love our courts to be a more effective bulwark against the powerful but I don’t see Thailand as the shining light for stable government and the rule of law.

I’m not holding us up as great shakes merely indicating that Thailand is no ‘gold standard’ to aspire to. This one ruling is not the whole story. Yes our system needs real teeth and the will to create and enforce laws at all levels.
