I only know what's on his Wikipedia page, and that's enough to convince me he's a legend. He seems to have fought on both sides of every major conflict during his life, and repeatedly launched coups against governments he had earlier installed. What a life.
I was lucky enough to find and read a biography of him and yeah, dude's a legend. Mexico suffered a gruesomely high price for that legend but he was, in fact, very much one of the 19th Century men of all time.
