If Abdulhamid II was a legitimate ruler because his distant ancestor butchered an army reliant on the triumph of the will against Mr. Artillery Barrage, Israel is legitimate on the same basis. If he was not legitimate, neither is Israel but you just invalidated the entire region for legitimacy.
