Holly, she was a bit like that, a tabby feral who came to us just before Christmas around 1992. We put food out for her, and it became clear she was pregnant. She eventually came into the house, had her kittens, got spayed, stayed with us for over three years and then one day just left again.

Holly - a tabby feral cat, seen here curled up on top of a record player. She was a very independent cat who never really lost her feral touch, she came to us in 1992 and disappeared sometime around 1995/1996, and although the place where she went missing had an overzealous gamekeeper who was no friend of cats, I like to think that she was smarter than to fall prey to his shotgun and just went back to living her life out in the countryside.
