Here's the difference: Hitler was 43 & in good health when he took power. Trump is 79 & is rapidly declining. Also, US citizens have turned out with more resistance, & have more access to info, than those in Germany in the 1940s and 30s. I still think we can turn this around in a shorter time.
Hate to criticize my countrymen- but Germans at that time were more motivated to take action. A lot of Americans remain Keyboard warriors- never helping beyond complaining. Or, Americans are less desperate to sign on for the Government BS than the Germans were at the time.
I believe we can. Although I believe the alt right are a threat even if Trump were to pass away. He’s just the festering pustule on the surface. The infection runs much deeper and needs to be healed.
MAGA was the Tea Party before Trump. The Tea party was a lot less organized and motivated because they didn’t have an influential leader like Trump. MAGA won’t disappear, but Vance will not have the hold in them like Trump did. And power/ money hungry grifters will fight to be the next Trump.
In others words- very likely fractured groups will fracture again when the Republicans can’t get their base around the new guy and make the Epstein Files go away.
