I’m all for environmentally responsible actions, but that stop-start thing was really obnoxious in my BIL’s Subaru. Stopping and starting SUV at every stoplight seems dumb. Wears down battery, and dead batteries suck for the environment. He disabled it.
Whoever designed that feature should be drawn and quartered.

Lead acid batteries are 100% recyclable. You really can't set the bar much higher or everything becomes a problem. I'm curious what it does to a starter. If you have to replace it twice as often what is the net offset? Still, in cities you don't want to breathe exhaust.
