Physical Inactivity makes over half of USA eligible. 🙂 But seriously, use a loophole wherever you can find one. I had a steroid shot for allergies back in 2021 when there were restrictions on the vaccine, and it got me through the pharmacy’s paperwork for a shot. My insurance paid for it.

One loophole is to go to your Dr. They can prescribe you vaccine "off-label" or against FDA advice and any good doctor would do that for you if you asked them. And I bet 99% of people in US (anyone not in competitive sports) could claim physical inactivity and not be questioned.

Off label means insurance won’t cover it and last year w/o insurance the covid vaccine was around $300.

And all you do is tell your doctor you used to smoke 30 years ago or that you are physically inactive and they can prescribe it on label if that were truly a concern.

That's not true. Almost every insurance company will pay for vaccines (or other preventative medications) because it's 100 times cheaper to pay for the vaccine than the costs of hospitalization and long term health problems of Covid. I get two diff off label scripts and insurance gladly pays.

I believe some states have also passed laws requiring insurance to cover vaccines even if not recommended by the federal government assuming there are other physicians associations that recommend them.

Good point. At the time, everyone was focused on what pharmacies had vaxes. Our doctor didn’t have it. Things are different now and docs would be a good source.

It was convenient and free to go to Walgreens to get vaccines for me. A doctor's visit for a shot will likely cost me a co-pay of $20, but not getting Covid again or making Covid less severe is well worth the $20 if I go to the doc. But whoever has it, is where I'll go.
