that's how my troop was. my ass did NOT know how much camp mystic was and i never knew because it didn't matter, the troop covered it! i didn't even know it was a big deal to go at the time- when i was a literal child. because i was a literal child! and a literal child should not be concerned!
My childhood bff was a huuuuge horse girl, a thing her broke single mom absolutely couldn't have afforded to indulge. Our troop went riding at least a couple times every summer. I know now that my troop leader mom prioritized that for her specifically, but as a kid we were oblivious.
