I think he wanted a song that reflects the story and overall vibe of S2. Lot's of emotions and all our main cast is kind of going through it, so a song about life being harsh but we've gotta keep facing it fits pretty well imo.

I like Do You Wanna Taste It a lot too, but it would have probably clashed tonally with the openings of the last two episodes.
