I had a similar experience with My Life as a Dog. It was on Bravo (back when they were showing mostly foreign films), and I saw it was subtitled which made me so mad (I was 15 or so), but within the first 5 minutes, I was in love. I watched the channel on a loop afterwards and it was a magical time

Exactly! After that I realized ANY movie could be good, and I shouldn’t just dismiss one because it looked old or weird or wasn’t, you know, STAR WARS.

I was the only kid in my high school watching films from Denmark! But I loved it.
