AI kills serendipitous discoveries that occur with real research. That's a bad thing. When I ask ChatGPT a question, I have to read through a long pedantic description before the final answer, and then I have to prompt it again to incorporate well-known information into its answers. Dumb.

I can't imagine anyone using the feature hasn't already looked through the settings for it. Who is out there just never adjusting settings in their $1000 phone? Also, Bixby fucking blows. The most intelligent thing it can do is set a timer, and it's not even 100% reliable at that.

Lately I've been almost wishing for a return to a basic cell phone.

I carry a small tablet that uses a dumb phone that has no GPS but does act as a 5G hotspot. The phone is tiny, and sits in my shirt or pants pockets. It can only be traced to a 300M radius. The tablet has GPS that I turn on when I want it, and uses non-google apps. I'm done with spyware.

It's frustrating that you can disable AI crap on most of their phones - except for the camera, where the only options are "tons and tons of image-garbling postprocessing" or "less image-garbling postprocessing."

Every search I make is followed by -AI (minus AI). The quality and calibre of results are much higher. I fucking hate AI.

I stopped using Google search all together because I was tired of having to put -AI in everything. I used DuckDuckGo now because I can at least turn AI off. I changed all of my settings to use DuckDuckGo as the default search engine.

I'm looking at Vivaldi atm.
