The revamped Model Y was launched in January, but it only became globally available through May. While there’s no definitive data yet on how well the car is performing at retail—Tesla doesn’t publish model or country sales number splits—the early signs do not look good.

It’s almost like if you want to expand your customer base beyond the existing legion of Musk acolytes you actually need effective marketing to broaden awareness and consideration.

Tesla will continue to fall until Elon has nothing to do with it and it may already be too late to save it.

In Q1 2025, Tesla deliveries in Europe plunged 37% year-on-year, blamed on the Model Y production switch. Once the new version hit production, sales didn’t recover.

Would it be more reasonable for Tesla to release car models on a schedule closer to other car manufacturers? Yes, probs. Also might have helped for them to have had better product, not lied on performance, & not had a tool as the face of their company. 20/20 vision looking at their backside, though.
