Claims 5.5 months of aging. Detectable. Practically significant?
I can attest to that
Covid and 2 trump presidencies is enough to make anyone experience total brain death 💀
Isn’t that all of us?
Some people are in such denial that they dont believe there ever was a pandemic. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yes. Badly written title.
www.nature.com/articles/s41... "However, accelerated brain ageing correlates with reduced cognitive performance only in COVID-infected participants." You get both!
How do we separate the stress from living through the COVID era from the stress of living through 9 fcking years of Trump?
WTF is living with 10 years of Trump terrorizing our country going to do to our brains? Many are going to outright die from his cruel policies, how many extra died during Covid due to him? 500,000 extra deaths he is so proud to have caused?
"appears"? a lot like how prescribed medicines "are thought to work". and that was BEFORE JUNKIE RFKJ, TOO.
Seems like you missed the part about how the COVID virus actually damages the brain, maybe that should be a notable data point
i mean. read the article idk
I did read the article. The headline downplays the most significant & well documented aspect of COVID: brain damage from contracting the virus; while playing into the "lockdowns caused anxiety" trope sure, pandemics suck. letting them continue indefinitely because we are traumatized sucks worse
Could just as easily attribute that to the President.
What about people who enjoyed the pandemic?
enjoyed is an exaggeration, but i will admit the whole keeping my distance thing suited me to a T.
I honestly miss the pandemic
Came here to see/say this.
well, it's time to shake it off and get to work! felon needs to go - however you can imagine.
Most of my stress wasn't from COVID, per se. It's from Trump who failed to address the pandemic intelligently. Not to mention every stupid thing he's done since. My never having COVID, might have not taken years off my life. But I'm perfectly willing to believe he has taken years off my brain power.
I'm pretty sure it was the Trump Presidency, not Covid. I know it aged me a decade.
yes!

And if covid era did all that, imagine what the Trump presidency is doing to our brains!
At least during covid I had hope.
No shit. So who'd have thought that the absurd pressures non-rich people have are guaranteed to cut lives short? Let's do a study on how common sense has gone by the wayside.
