Or just format it and load Graphene OS
Yeah but that's coming to a swift end too. Pixels are about to be just Another Smartphone awash in a sea of others with similarly bad security
Maybe you have confused Wired for Linux Magazine
At the mention of Linux I am summoned. Like gloomy Crom from his misty mountain, I have traveled far to inform you that Linux is in fact tech related and not at all that weird to see mentioned in a thread on a wired article.
Then, as your average Linux spook, my point sailed far over your head. What is not weird but in fact absurd is to suggest that for even the average tech literate user the superior solution is to install a DIFFERENT PHONE OS instead of tweaking settings. Peak Linux Magazine solution.
Thanks for this metaphor, you have convinced me (I was on the edge to be honest). I'm buying a Pixel and installing GrapheneOS on it.
Good luck! Check out Naomi Brockwell. She has a lot of great videos on this and walkthrus on how to do it.
Thanks, just subscribed to her channel
Appreciate your opinion, but we know several average tech users who have done just that. It's good to empower people with options. ✊
To note, I don't know what is in Linux Magazine, I just googled "Linux Magazine" because I assumed it exists and not even Linux grognards use BBS any more.
There has to be a Linux magazine somewhere. But I do agree with your point. Most normal users aren't going to install a new os on their phone. Also...uh, yeah there are totally people still using Usenet so it wouldn't shock me if there's a bunch of Linux BBS stuff.
Google bricked my Pixel 4a with a simple software update. F' Google, please do not buy a Pixel.
Counter anecdote, mine is fine and continues to work.
But can I turn off or uninstall the AI nonsense?
