LA is a big city. By all accounts, there are a few bad areas, but most of the city is fine. Kimmel had a bit last night showing the streets around the studio & they didn't look much like a warzone (they film in LA).

I don't know the other video you're talking about but this one seems authentic to me because I can see people with signs in the background. Nobody brings signs to a normal street performance.

I'm told the violence was only in a one square mile area.
