lol I’m a network engineer. Gear stays running for 10-12 years and then Security finds out it’s still able to run telnet and makes you upgrade it. Inevitably it’s the network in front of the server that everyone prays never goes down.
Yeah, it's never good when a switch comes back up and gets into a slap-fight with its failover over which one is primary. I spend most of my days babysitting a couple of vCenter stacks though. That's a whole different circle of hell.
