The Hitler's birthday part is speculation. It's been pointed out that they may have originally wanted the date of the massacre to be 4/19, which is the Oklahoma bombing anniversary.

White supremacist. Never said Eric Harris wasn't a racist (he was). I think it does tie into the fact that Eric and Dylan wanted their massacre to be "media friendly" so they would end up in history books. They got what they wanted.
