The Trump Regime eliminated the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program that helped keep senior citizens warm during the winter. The Republicans have given companies like Duke Energy money to build plants that will harm the environment. They are killing us at every turn.
Someone I've known for 40 years has been dependent on this program for years. (She has literally no income other than some about $2k a year in stock dividends.) I don't know how she's going to survive the winter.
They think the states should provide the money. I live in NC and we don't even have a budget yet because the Republicans, who are in charge of both branches of the General Assembly, are fighting with each other. There is no way nonprofits can provide that kind of money without help from the state.
That is horrible to hear
