Hey, I was on a social media break for a few days. The weekend was ok here. I did some shopping on Saturday and some cooking on Sunday. How was your weekend?

I hope the break did you good. I had a fairly lazy weekend - it was what I needed and I enjoyed it. The weather is heating up again for a while here. I expect yours has been hot the whole time.

It has and I'm encouraged to continue. I removed the app from my cell phone so they can't cell my data - you know we're ok with all that here in the US - and only check socials from my laptop. Better for me all the way around!

We had a few days that were quite nice, which is unusual for the summertime here, but now we're back to heat and humidity. Can you believe it's already mid-August? Soon it will be fall. I have so many plans for my gardening then.

If you haven't done so, maybe consider air conditioning. Climate change is real and these fools in charge have no plans to do anything about it. Enjoy the rest of your week!

We've started looking at portable units. It does get unpleasant when it's hot, the houses are not designed for it - they hold the heat.

Getting out there becomes more realistic when it's not so hot. It feels quite autumnal here, in spite of the heat. We had a hot and dry Spring, more like summer really. I think the plants are confused, leaves are changing colour and beginning to drop.

I sometimes avoid social media and the news for a few days. When you look at what phone apps routinely ask for permissions on, it's quite scary. Not only do they have our data, but our phones track us.
