I really don't see the problem. I've used Ryanair. A lot. Follow the rules. It's not difficult. And it's cheap.

Yes. Their limits on dimensions and weight of carry-on luggage are right there to read when you buy the ticket.

Last year I flew with them and took a bag which measured exactly the dimensions given by them online - to the cm. Was charged £25 to put it in the hold.

no it didn't. and I measured it when I got back home and it still complied to the cm to the measurements they'd given me before I flew. I was one of the last people in the boarding queue and me and a couple of others all got told our bags were too big and charged.

Yes and trying to do this with international travel makes it nearly impossible because of all the size differences. You'll need a different bag for each airline.
