Both extremes believe the persecution/intolerance of 'other' people is fine. Both Believe violence as a means to an end is acceptable. They end up being pretty similar in behaviour, if for dissimilar reasons.

That's what we in Germany call the horseshoe-theory, cause the ends of the horseshoe nearly meet each other. But the more you learn about left and right the more wrong the theory becomes.
Both extremes lead to totalitarianism
Only true if you accept what people called themselves and not the evidence of their actions. Stalin might have been called a communist and risen out of an attempt at a communist system, but his behaviour was utterly authoritarian.
How about mao? My point was the extremes are all dangerous.
What you call the extreme left in America are viewed as centrist left in Europe. It’s only because we’ve been conditioned by the conservatives for decades to view the idea of any kind of socialism as communism.
Yeah. I like AOC, from what I have seen from the uk. she is a great orator but not radical. Same for Bernie.
Nonsense. Define "persecution/intolerance". I'm a lefty. I don't tell anyone how to represent themselves or to live. I don't exclude anyone from our country. I look for ways our government can help us, not exclude us. Can say that for the far right?
So Stalin didn't show any form of persecution or Intolerance?
Stalin was not a liberal or leftist.
I'd count myself as left. Not far left.
