Gonna blow Europeans' minds even further: red solo cups are also REAL, and very common. Why have you so pervasively decided certain random things you don't have in your country aren't REAL? We don't have any castles but I don't think all of your castles are MADE UP for movies lol
The thing that surprised me about non-American ideas of Solo cups is that they're just for drinking alcohol, so a child w/ a red cup is implied to be drinking underage. You can put, like, anything you want in those when you don't want to wash a cup. I eat cereal and goldfish crackers out of mine.

As someone from a country grossly misrepresented by the media, i do have a good amount of skepticism of how countries are represented in it. That said, it is not that hard to deduce that if the country represented is the same as the media's country of origin, they probably won't misrepresent it

There's a pretty major difference between "these things are fictional" and "i'm surprised these things are still in circulation and still part of infrastructure". They're ancient and it's easy to just assumed they were a relic or shorthand like most hollywood language which are our only experience

But if you're thinking of the red telephone boxes, they phased those out starting in 1985, they are pretty fictional at this point.
