Ion really remember when it happened, but at some point the world went into sum'n akin to cliffs notes mode, painting passionate practitioners as obsessive. They didn't change. The world did around them. Collectively it became cool to know, seek & experience far less. Issa mind fuck, fr.

Seeing how people use things like search engines and Ai "Cliff notes mode" covers it aptly enough. There is no learning or even memorization anymore just look it up use it and forget it. The ridicule of the learned has always been a thing Aka Nerd Dork and so one through the years now its mainstream

“cliffs notes mode”… Alarming in this is that it wasn't mere contentment, but aspiration (“it became cool”) rather. What you describe seems to be a foundation of [pick a classic dystopian future hegemony], in which people enable their dehumanization by willful surrender of their higher faculties.

Thank you and back at you. I say it as one who is pretty detached, but: Awareness, self-esteem, compassion, resolve and action together has always been the strength. True in good times, but especially in bad. “hope” isn't my favorite word since it implies passivity. But I know that it is flexible.
