I mean... If you have a system in which judges are elected, politics is a guarantee guest to the table. Here in Canada there's a movement to go towards the same system, in which judges apply the law differently according to what party they belong, and if elections are close. No, thank you!
No country should adopt any part of the US systems of government. All the checks and balances that were supposed to protect us continue to fail us daily. All the guardrails are falling away as we careen towards an Authoritarian Oligarchy of Fascists completely hijacking our Democratic Republic.
For all the practically religious devotion Americans have for their constitution, it turns out it protects them not a jolt when bad players get in power. At least the UK doesn't pretend to have a constitution.
Fair statement. Obviously a country's constitution is only as strong as the integrity, decency and honor of its leaders to uphold its principles.
Some of the ones listed are appointments—I believe they are worse than the elected ones. Certainly, the Supreme Court conservatives are among them—all appointments. Cannon was appointed. How do you have judges without appointments or elections?
