Californian here. Not the leader we need; done some wonderful stuff in the past, but that was then…and he’s made some big mistakes, during Covid. He’s obviously positioning himself as a moderate for ‘28 but you can’t change the spots on a leopard; too groomed. Many here are turned off.

I didn’t listen to the one with Bannon but I did listen to the one with Kirk. To me it was Newsom trying to figure out how Kirk and MAGA have tapped into the younger men in the U.S. who feel they have no future. Young voters will be a huge group in 2028 & Dems need to connect with them to win.

So was he able to find out why younger (presumably white) men are becoming Nazis and fascists and fake christians? Is his son in the cult? I didn’t listen to either of those, but I don’t want to listen to that Meidas podcast if it is just going to be him coming back and being duplicitous.

Ultimately MAGA is winning the culture wars & the Dems need to take control of the narrative. This is a class war & that should be the message from Dems in my opinion.

He didn’t say why his son is a fan. I’m guessing it’s because many young males are fans so he’s following the crowd. Kirk‘s opinion was that young males feel left behind due to so much focus on DEI and women’s rights, gay rights, etc. MAGA basically said we see you & we will fight for you.

There are many Hispanics & some African Americans who I think like the MAGA facade of strength. It’s sad because The one thing Trump is good at is creating a perception and controlling the narrative. It’s become clear that perception is all that matters to many voters.

Yes I agree. I have a daughter in college with many male friends. When you walk around the campus, most of the males are alone with their EarPods and listening to Joe Rogan and Charlie Kirk. While the girls are walking in groups and talking to each other.
