Iran’s statements can’t be taken at face value. It’s going to take some time to get an accurate readout of the real effects of the attacks. Furthermore, this isn’t over. Just because we pull back doesn’t mean Israel will. It may still seek to eliminate the regime, given the opportunity presented.
