If the government was serious about Medicaid reform, conduct an audit. Find the cases of abuse, address the (apparent) problems in the application process and release the findings.

That's about the size of it. All too many people on Medicaid still work, they just need occasional time off for appointments and medication for manageable issues. That's no excuse to link work requirements to it though.

Employers do not pay people enough to afford health insurance. They also do not provide health insurance.
We don't need health insurance. We need health CARE. Like, Medicare for All. SO, we have to pay 2,500 more a year in tax to cover it? OK. But we're no longer paying insurance premiums, co-pays and deductibles. Politicians know this but they work for billionaires and don't like to discuss it.

It's not easy to qualiry for Medicaid. My daughter has a disability and is on Social Security but makes $38 too much for Medicaid so has to pay $185 per month for Medicare.
How about the government just pay the $185 and let them be on Medicare?

I've tried to argue this with my MAGA father. The excuse he, and many others give, is that there ARE people leeching off the system. Sure, there might be a few - but the vast majority of people actually need the programs. These people cannot be convinced.
