Hi Brett. I have a photography equipment question for you. I know you shoot Nikon, but not necessarily on Nikon glass. What led you to the lenses in your current kit?

I use nikon glass except I have a zenitar 85mm I bought before the war, it's an f mount manual focus and I never use but want to use more. Astro I use primarily a z mount 20mm f1.8 and telephoto a 100-400 z mount sometimes with a 1.4x teleconverter. I'd like to use more 3rd party lenses but $$$ atm
I have a 24-200 f/4-6.3 which pros loathe but I use for work and I like. Hopefully someday I can afford a good 70-200 but I can't stomach having the union buy one for me. We already have one for my coworker.
Last year I had nikon pro where I consigned afew lenses, I'll do it again next year, plus use it to get all my gear cleaned, but I skipped this year to save money.
Thanks for sharing! Not sure how, but I thought you might have been shooting with Sigma lenses. I hear what you're saying with the 24-200. In college I worked as a professional photographer's assistant and he told me the best equipment is what you have with you
I'm a HUGE promoter of sigma/tamron 150-600s as starter lenses. if you're looking to get great bird shots and can accept getting in flight in close distance is nearly impossible, they're even better than mine in some cases. and really solid for general use. I would still use one if it wasn't stolen
I had my van totaled and *SOMEONE STOLE IT FROM THE RECYCLING YARD* - really frustrating. lesson learned, dont wait to "get everything the next day" - do it before they take the car away.
