Republicans: Guns control won't help. It's crazy people. Canada, Australia, the UK, and almost every other industrialized country: We have nowhere near the same number of mass shootings, gun deaths, or murders per capita. It's the flipping guns.

No it's not. To believe that you'd have to believe that the only meaningful difference between Canada and the US is... gun control. You may not know this, but you still allow a TON of guns in your nation, most of which are easily capable of inflicting a Newtown style killing spree. 'Gun control'
isn't actually stopping it. Saying "It's crazy people" isn't exactly correct either. There are vast cultural and social reasons for the difference. If it were 'the flipping guns', then why are there drastic differences in murder rates in various demographics in the US, when gun access is the same?
We have a ton of guns per capita, but we don't allow military-style assault weapons. Every gun owner needs a Possession and Acquisition License which is run through the RCMP. If you have serious MH issues or a history of domestic violence, you aren't getting a permit.
Gun control is only one aspect. There are many contributing factors such as more social supports, less criminalization (for some demographics), and lower poverty rates.
