Will it? When countless millions are dead or displaced and everyone is even more bitter and angry at each other? History has proven the exact opposite. The problem always gets worse when you rely on arguments of morality to fix issues of technicality.

If they ever did this, they’d be as hated as Israel is today. Why would you want to stain Native Americans with that kind of evil? Luckily something like this would never be a possibility.

What they need is complete autonomy to work both with and against not just the US government but any government that threatens that autonomy. On top of that, The US should work with them to revitalize and strengthen those communities who’ve dealt with decades of neglect and abuse.

It wouldn’t fix or heal those issues, not completely anyway, but it allows the US to atone without unnecessary flogging presented and allows both communities to grow stronger as a result.
