We’ll see. Trump/his lapdogs have been trying to dodge Epstein for weeks. Nothing’s worked. Maxwell was charged with perjury and lied about her own culpability in the interview. No lawyer would offer a witness like this at trial because it’s obviously perjury and a jury wouldn’t buy it for a second.

No it doesn’t. There isn’t going to be a trial. Public opinion is the jury.
I doubt Maxwell will ever be cross-examined in the court of public option. Her statements will just be out there any many will accept them. Right wing media has been painting her as a victim for some time now. Their propaganda works on far too many viewers.
Dems don’t need to cross Maxwell, they should be pointing out her obvious lies, the strong incentive to lie, etc. We are not trying to convince every Trump supporter to change their votes. We are trying to win the midterms. When Dems control Congress, then we can talk about investigations, etc.
They are doing that but our polarized media means only Dem voters are listening.
Motivating the base is important, but so is driving up negatives. The goal of the GOP’s bs about HRC’s emails/Benghazi was not to recruit our base. It was to demoralize some, get them to stay home/vote Indy. Dems have waited far too long to fight fire with fire. They’re doing it now and that’s good.

Dems don’t control Congress/DOJ (though they did help maneuver the House into demanding the files). DOJ is stalling, but has begun to release some docs. The fact that we’re still talking about this is the point. It’s the controversy that hurts Trump. Relying on a liar will not quell the controversy.

Most of which was already publicly available. Like I said, DOJ is stalling. That’s not going to quell the controversy either.
This DOJ has made it clear they don’t care to follow the law. Congress can ask for docs but can’t control which ones they get. If the files implicate Trump, Bondi will just withhold those.
We can and should keep talking about it, but I don’t think we’ll get any info of value from Bondi or from the Congressional investigation.
We pinned our hopes on Mueller, and then Garland. Now should we hope a mythical patriot whistleblower will bring him down?
That’s not really the point. The controversy drives Trump’s poll numbers down. The lower they go, the higher Dems’ chances are of retaking Congress. Right now this is a political battle. We’ve allowed the GOP to play these games unopposed for years. Time to fight fire with fire.
As I said, we should keep talking about it but I guess I’m tired of the people who keep saying everything Trump does is meant to distract from the Epstein files. He’s following the Project 2025 agenda and it’s extremely dangerous, not a distraction. They ignore that to our peril, imo.

The "controversy" is complete political garbage If Trump releases the files and isn't in them its a coverup (see reaction to Maxwell interview) If he doesn't release them its a cover up
If Trump isn’t in the files, what were the references that Bondi had a boatload of FBI agents ID? Why did Trump say the files were created by Obama, etc.? It’s easy to say “political garbage” when you don’t like the way the politics are playing out, politics these assholes are responsible for btw.
