Verification failed. The modified fish is never even in ocean water. It is farmed in freshwater only. Therefore, the information given to me was not substantiated. That throws us back into the possibility that the fish might be AquaAdvantage.
It should be taken out of the gene pool anyway. But it appears that this fish couldn't possibly be the genetically modified one because I have been informed that the genetically modified one is blue only in the open ocean. I have not verified that as yet, but I think it is probably true.
The natural occurring color for salmon in the ocean phase is blue. (AI is often wrong.)
But we were talking about farmed salmon, and they are not in the ocean. Ever. I researched this thoroughly. And not through AI.
I do not see where the OP stated anything about “farmed.”
Tired of this. I have better things to do. Goodbye
As they make their way up the river, the color changes from blue to red. There’s no immediate switch of color. So you will see blue salmon in rivers at any given time.
Lots of possibilities then. I know here in Wales and the rest of the U.K.escaped farmed (farmed in sea and Scottish lochs) mix in the rivers. Also I was getting the odd pink and one Coho here 30 years ago nobody would believe. Now they are all over UK Norway and are invasive.🤞natural blue one.
Me, too!
