The next presidential election (if we get to have one) is over 3 years away. It is way too early to be settling for some asshole centrist who is a democrat in name only. This is the time we get to openly criticize every politician! We do not have to vote for them by default! Stop pretending we do!

There are tens of thousands of people capable of doing the job if not more. Why would we elevate a man who has demonstrated such hate and inhumanity?
Criticism at this stage is GOOD, actually. Politicians work for us, and we get to interview them and decide if they would be a good fit for the job. We do not need to hire the first person who put in their application. That's how we end up with weak candidates that no one likes and so we lose again.
What we're willing to defend or excuse in a candidate is a better reflection of our own values than how we self-identify or self-report. In other words, people who think they're taking the high road and voting for a sensible choice despite having criticisms about them actually don't have criticisms
