Patriarchy, dick. Trump also increased his share of man voters. Why?
Patriarchy? So you say women cannot think for themselves? Women have to take direction from men? Is that the sum of your analysis? Patriarchy didn't deny women the right to vote. How did it contribute? As for men, there are questions there too, but that's not what started this thread.
Did you even read Joyce’s article?
Yes I did. Do you need someone to explain it to you? The 2024 election was a surprise especially when you see the final figures that came out a few months later. Nothing is as simple as it seems so jumping to conclusions and relying on tropes will get us nowhere.
Yikes. I’d encourage you to re-read it. Or have someone else read it to you. Or maybe insert the text into an AI of your choosing, have it analyze it for you. Reading comprehension doesn’t appear to be one of your skills.
And before you attack, men on the Right, from what I've seen are Patriarchal and to some degree or another misogynistic. The women on the Right want equal rights for themselves but not for other women. It doesn't make them evil, but they need to see what they are doing and change.
Bro, I actually read Joyce’s Substack. Do you think I care whatever mansplaining you attempted in all that? I’m not going to “attack” you. You already proved my original point. The number of white men in this thread blaming women is pathetic.
Who is blaming women? I'm not. I don't know what your original "point" was other than hostility. No discussion. No attempt to understand another's point of view. You are why there is so much hositility against "liberals", "woke", etc. It's not the ideas. It's the attitude and judgement.
again, ill suggest the problem is the patriarchy. and i will again suggest the point of Joyce’s article was NOT the 2024 election results, even though you and many other others in this thread continue to push that narrative. one reason i suspect some of you do is so you can blame women.
I didn’t say that the point of Joyce’s article was an analysis of the election results. She made good case about MAGA’s war on women. My question was about why it was a number of women either didn’t realize that or they didn’t factor that in to their decision. We all assumed more women would.
More liberal women are comfortable with how their gender communicates toughness and in their circles men and women recognize it. A large part of the electorate does not. It's not misogyny and it's not "Patriarchy" though it's a leftover from both. It's really a failure of communication.
Of the women I've talked to most, but not all are older. A number of younger women are suddenly getting into "trad wives" and such. The women who broke through this in other countries tended to be conservative traditionalists. Thatcher, Mier, Gandhi, ....
To continue: So Joyce is writing about how Patriarchal Trump and the Right are. True. It's also true that a lot of women voted for them. Why? Many women see gender attributes the same way men do. The don't see toughness in other women because they are looking at how men communicate toughness.
How generous of you. Joyce’s post didn’t explain the election results. It was superficial, repeating what a lot of other first takes said. I posed my question because a deeper analysis is necessary and results in some conclusions that surprise many mainstream Democrats. AOC & Bernie get it.
