wasn’t solely an issue of not “publicly disclosing their funding sources.” It’s an issue of credibility, transparency, and accountability.

Well, time will tell if they're credible & accountable. Personally I want to give them a chance.

Unclear who the “they” is you’re referencing at this point. I assume you mean the content creators exposed in the original article (not the non-American). Personally, I’ve questioned - literally - the credibility of some of the creators for months now. The Wired article was simply confirmation.

We each evaluate credibility of influencers on our own. This is a daunting task. Even Blue Sky has plenty of liberal imitating MAGA trolls, paid to help MAGA by discouraging ppl from voting Dem--supposedly bc Dems don't 100% agree with the particular issue of the group they pretend 2B a part of.

Yes, I agree with you. At the sake of repetition, what I’ve noticed is the proliferation of “non-American” trolls (for lack of a better term — I’ve mostly interacted w accounts bearing flags of Canada/Scotland/Australia/Ireland). I thought it was random at first. But to your point, they have one

purpose and follow a similar script. They usually pop up in the sillier posts - memes/funny pictures of Trump, yelling at Americans that we don’t care enough about [insert right here]. I say all that to say - I understand the trolling aspect, and that was the reason I commented “classic outsider.”

Those are present. Although most foreign trolls claim to be American.

As to content creators mentioned in the Wired article - yes, unfortunately, I’ve been following / correcting their misinformation since at least… February? (here and on Substack). I won’t write it all out via “skeet” but if you look, you’ll find others have done the same. So, that’s my issue w them.

The reason I ask: I am constantly told by ppl on this site that I am spreading disinfo if I disagree w e.g. the idea that T is the savior of the working class. Most ppl seem to think everything they believe bc they've heard it 1000 times is true & that everything that wd contradict it is false.

Apologies, my failure to respond was not due to lack of interest. I haven’t looked at your posts, but that wasn’t my impression (FWIW). Ppl here tell me I’m bot. I think we prob. agree more than we disagree. You appear to be an expert on disinfo, so I’d defer to you on the subject (I’m here to

connect w/learn from smart ppl!) I judge credibility on a case by case basis usually. I’m a lawyer- I need facts supported by evidence. I like to think I can see when facts are manipulated for a purpose… or embellished for clickbait purposes. Drives me crazy, for exactly the reason you stated.
