If you “had to be there” when something released to truly understand its greatness, it's probably not the masterpiece you've built it up to be in your head.

The most forgettable entertainment is anything you can only “really” enjoy in childhood or adolescence; memorable works are usually best consumed in adulthood; but the rarest and hardest type to pull is only fully appreciated from all perspectives, each for completely different reasons.
