So, I happen to value moral consistency. And so I want a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. I especially don’t want and don’t agree with either country bombing civilian targets in the other. Israel is the clear aggressor, of course, but both countries have to abide by international law.

That's the problem, when the countries that have the power to enforce are the ones committing them, it becomes an absolute joke of a system. The fact is many in the W administration should of been sent to stand trial at the ICC, but the US thinks they are above the ICC so it doesn't work well.
As far as I can tell Ukraine has been better at abiding by international law in how they conduct their defensive war than any nation I can think of in the past 100 years. In fact, they may well serve as a model for future generations in how to defend oneself against attackers who don't.
There are African leaders who complain that it’s unfair that they are subject to the ICC. I agree but not for their reason. It’s unfair because criminals from powerful countries have impunity.
