THEO @pottersville.bsky.social

It’s right there in the article: “In September, Puck News reported the project faced delays amid disagreements between Kaepernick and Lee over the direction of the film, and that ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro was open to allowing the filmmakers to shop it elsewhere.”

...once again, "integrity" seems to rear its 'just' head. You have to wonder what the disagreement would be about. I believe both gentlemen are of the highest integrity, so what happened?

If I had to guess spike Lee maybe didn't paint kapernick in the best light and maybe called in to question his authenticity or the fact that his game had significantly declined towards the end of his career

This is from the NYT story: Puck’s Matt Belloni reported last September on what he noted as creative differences in the vision of where the focus of the docuseries should be between Kaepernick’s story and a broader telling of the history of Black athletes in professional sports and social justice.
