It's such whiplash going from being excited for new tech just a decade ago to now hoping with each new generation the techbros haven't made it too much worse and cringe I mean, they really released the Apple Vision Pro, and AI. So much AI forced into everything even though it sucks so severely
The Switch 2 with its high price, adding nothing really new to the console and making you pay to play the Switch 1 games at a reasonable performance. PS5 getting more expensive while having no games. The impossibility to get an AI-less current-gen phone. Internet being less and less naviguable.
You've touched on something I didn't, the biggest piece of global tech, the internet, techbros are actively ruining every frkn day You can't even get an accurate search result anymore, it's bs AI hallucinations, SEO spam, & AI slop Their biggest ideas lately have been "make the internet worse"
Centralization has been hurting Internet a lot, with things like Reddit and Discord making finding information so awful. Then things like Fandom turning finding CORRECT info about media near impossible with its extreme SEO. And websites struggling because of AI scrappers nuking bandwidths...

Techbros genuinely drained all the fun out of tech. We cant even work in IT repair because laptops and smartphones are either unrepairable or replacement pieces cost so much no one is going to bother and will rather buy a new laptop. I miss waiting tech news with excitement... instead of dread.

Right? I remember buying gaming magazines, seeing all the games, the new things consoles brought (esp nintendo, the DS and the Wii are masterpieces), being amazed by new phones... Now its "cool it is the same console, but vaguely more powerful" and "what do you mean androids cost as much as iphone"
That was me as a kid, I remember a 2 hour drive home from Sydney to Canberra where I had a gaming magazine about the new Duke Nukem 3D and I was lost in it, the new tech was so exciting I can't recall being excited for new tech in quite a few years, especially since techbros started pushing AI
