Housing for profit gives us 750,000 homeless people while houses and apartments stay empty. Food for profit gives us 30% of food thrown out of grocery stores while people go hungry. Health for profit gives us rampant bankruptcy despite us spending 18% of our paychecks on insurance.
Journalism for profit gives us “who can possibly say what the truth is?” while reporters vacillate and equivocate to avoid alienating readers and losing revenue. Government for profit gives us a ruling elite setting rules that benefit only themselves and codifying maximal exploitation of labor.
