Really 🤔
Sadly, Tik-Toc is "traditional media" for many. I read the NY Times, LA Times and WaPo, I have concluded that many news reporters and opinion writers on social media derive their material from X, Threads or Bluesky and have no idea of the depth and breadth of what news organizations produce.
No, I definitely meant those outlets. The interview with Bacon is really not about the coverage of the gerrymander, it is about an elite media ecosystem that fails to see where we are at.
I’m sorry but that’s not what the interview with Bacon is about. It’s about traditional media not meeting the moment more broadly.
Your work is good! But can you honestly say, as an employee of the LA Times, that your paper has met the moment?
We rely on the media to help us and right now my livelihood is at serious risk and my daughters face a world that is falling apart. Why should I be pleased with media institutions that are staring fascism in the face and decided to turn away?
Yes, you have, and thank you for doing so, Robin!! :)
