The Cybertruck nailed the 90s bare budget dystopian sci-fi prop look, this nails the late 00s bare budget sci-fi cgi look. I can picture this thing as a flying car that then dives into some tunnels in some made for tv movie that is a cheap knockoff of another bigger movie's plot.

I assume the lack of windows is so the wealthy using them to get around don’t have to look at us peasants living in the squalor they’ve left us.

Pfft, the wealthy wouldn't use a "van" themselves! The lack of windows is so they don't have to look at the pesants who are being carted around inside it!

The bus* *but worse Visual styling aside, spec wise this mostly sounds like it fits the wish list for a closed track automated people mover (airport terminal shuttle, etc)... other than the lack of windows. Which is also far less ambitious than what I think they're aiming for.

Imagine though, if you could connect a bunch of them together on a dedicated track to keep them out of traffic. It’d revolutionize transport, and maybe it could even be adapted to shipping!

I said this elsewhere, but the basic feature list of this thing sounds like some of the automated "pod" or people-mover systems like some airports have. Other than the lack of windows. Which I think is definitely a far more niche use than what they're aiming for.

This is what the Bruce Willis look-alike uses to get around in "The Sixth Element", in all of it's no texture & basic shading glory

Oh no... I was originally going to use "We, Robot" as second knockoff title in that post without realizing that is what Tesla called the event last night.

What would really make this efficient for moving people is if it had like an exclusive track to follow from place to place. You could even chain a bunch of them up together.
