I think alot of us are looking for a good reason to stand proudly infront of the Australian flag. It's in danger of being hijacked by Nazism currently.

With respect - you dont have a good reason to stand with an Australian flag?
I think today's turn out was a great reason.
In the past 25ish years that I have been paying attention, we have stolen East Timor's offshore resources under the guise of creating a democracy. Sold out our own resources for penuts whilst charging Australians a fortune. Failed time and time again to treat Indigenous Australians with any respect
And now we have been backing a genocide happening in real time before our eyes. Now we are about to sell our artists out to AI and had an Afl star call somone a faggot. So to be honest, I'm still desperately looking for a reason to be a proud Australian.
I am sorry to hear that. I am 63 and not always agreed with our government policy. We have been big enough to admit the mistakes from the past - treatment of indigenous people and Timor Leste mistakes as examples. A fair democracy that delivers the best for its people. Don't give it away to MAGAs.
It seems overwhelming. You will never get your own policies up 100%. You can influence your fellow Australians. The RWNJs, Nazis and Zionists are taking our flag. Fight back.
Out of interest, what keeps you in Australia?
Family and Australias potential to become the greatest country in the world. Worth fighting for. But your flag theory is cooked.
I we all agreed 100% it would be a very strange world indeed.
Australia is one of the best with some obvious flaws. Stay in the fight comrade. Don't let MAGAs take hold.
