Obviously not equivalent, and that ain't what I'm saying. Just pointing out that if the party doesn't notice leftists except to blame them, how do you build any enthusiasm from the left? Look at NYC - popular leftist wins nomination, and then leadership did what? smears at worst, silence at best.
I just think that the Democratic leadership should do a little introspection, maybe do something that is better than the lesser of two evils. How hard would it be to condemn genocide? Endorse a member of their party? NOT vote for t appointments?
I'm mostly disappointed by ANYONE saying that this whole mess is one subgroups fault. ALL OF US could have done more. Leadership, with more power, has more responsibility (to paraphrase Uncle Ben) but they're not willing to admit any mistakes.
I really dont care about fault, i more so care that so many folks weren't assed enough to prevent it.
Agree with that - I just hate the constant vilification of leftists, and apologia for leadership when we're supposed to be working together.
Agreed, but we are all worse off and more people will die as a result of folks letting the gop gain power again.
100%. So let's work on actually building the 'Big Tent' and not infight? It is going to be harder for us than repubs, cause as a party we are supposed to represent a diverse group. But let's look to what needs to change to make it ACTUALLY inclusive.
It's a lil weird for me to be arguing this, cause we're on the same side. I'm not even one of the leftists in question (though further left than average in the party) and I'm tired of blaming the least powerful people in the party instead of holding the failed leaders' feet to the fire.
Nah, we need to have this conversation because nobody learned anything from 2016 and now people are dead or will die as a result.
Didn't say we can't have a conversation, but if your starting point is "It's all your fault" to those who have least control of the party, but constantly support the same leaders who don't listen to the WHOLE party (not cave to, I just mean sincerely LISTEN), we're lost. I want strong resistance.
I just want the dems to work together. We need to look at ALL the failures, figure out where we can agree and start paying attention to what people are saying. If (as alleged) the leftists can tank an election, do you think yelling at them will help?
