It's really a struggle. I've had to lay out more than $200 USD to keep friends afloat this month because they can't find work, and that's meant that I haven't been able to give any money to people in Gaza.

Having to go "Sorry, I can't" to people who are asking me for help when they are dying is doing a serious number on my mental health. And then I see donation appeals by people on *this* continent who very proudly did not vote for Harris and I want to scream.

My friends are good, hardworking people. It's not their fault that they can't find work; That's the result of Tariff Otaku taking a sledgehammer to the world economy. Prices are up and jobs are scarce.

I have started saying "For all the good it did me," when people ask about my education and what I do presently. I hope it gets better for both of us.

And I still don't get why they tolerate it. Blue States should do everything they can to stave the other states out. They are literally being leeched off of by GOP regions that loathe their very existence.

Like, I had a very specific career goal of specializing in house in the tech sector doing legal data privacy stuff, but it really looks like it's isnt going to happen at this point between AI taking away entry level jobs, hiring freezes and yearly layoffs.

I spent a decade learning to speak Japanese and now they just use AI for translation. So I get you.

I work in privacy in tech and my role was just eliminated, so I feel you. The last few years have had me wondering if I could stomach another tech job at all. These companies are awful.

i graduated college this year, degree in ecology, and i had an internship lined up at a national reserve, and i planned on doing seasonal stuff w the forest service after. 2 months before getting my degree, the budgets were slashed, taking away literally every avenue i had 😀
