I have finally finished An Instance of the Fingerpost, and am sort of sad there’s no more even though I have an interminable stack of other great books in my queue.

Man what a great book. I wonder if that is the case most or all of the time when someone who normally writes 180-page procedurals comes out with one 450-page novel in their career.

Love that book, bought it in the 90s then it got packed and forgotten then I found it a few years ago which worked out as back the I knew none of that history Just an amazing piece of work.
