I found the article, and that's not how she means it: www.nytimes.com/2025/07/17/o... She means empathy that makes you care about someone enough to help them...and doing so means you violate some biblical nonsense that says their problem shouldn't be solved because it's a sin.

What stood out to me was them thinking that being called the new Phyllis Schlafly is a good thing 🤮

Exactly. She's really gross. The article goes all over the place and I maybe skimmed a little after I got to the part where she defined "toxic empathy", cuz it meandered into a lot of topics and ultimately she said, "Just obey god, dammit, no matter what you feel!" on all of 'em, really.

I guess she skipped the sermon on the mount. They really hate the bits of Jesus that point to communism .
