I actually don't know when it takes place; I haven't played the module. But I did look at other artwork for it, and this ticks WAY more of the right boxes to be immediately identifiable as fantasy...

I know it's set in a fictional country that's an analogue of Mexico; I remember that much off the top of my head. But no time period was mentioned. The image in the OP does look modern, especially the shoe she's holding, so you might have a point.

It's still D&D to me. I've run some crazy campaigns with the D&D system that wouldn't fall under the high fantasy genre. The picture kind of makes me want to play it. The dancing skeletons have me wondering if they made them intelligent. I want to sing "Spooky, Scary, Skeletons" with them.
